Recently, Lifang & Partners was listed in the 2020 IAM Patent 1000 rankings, a guide to the world’s leading patent firms and individuals published by the Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) which is a globalized recognized IP magazine. This year, we rank in the silver litigation tier and break into the prosecution rankings table for the first time. Three of our partners, Guanbin Xie, Haidong Yu and Yuanyuan Zhang, are recognized as the world’s leading patent professionals.

Mr. Guanbin Xie founded the firm in 2002. He is a familiar face in high-profile patent and trademark disputes. New to the guide this year, Yuangyuan Zhang is an electronics maven who has spent significant time honing her skills at the Patent Re-examination Board (PRB) and CNIPA substantive examination department. She has a granular understanding of validity issues, having previously chaired a CNIPA panel tasked with deciding on invalidity cases. Mr. Haidong Yu is also a newcomer to the guide this year. He has been occupied by a host of important technology, media and telecoms litigations of late. Both Zhang and Yu are proficient and accomplished drafters to boot.

Patent practice has long been the strength of Lifang & Partners. Most of our patent team members have dual academic background in technology and law and are qualified as both patent attorney and attorney at law. They are familiar with the life cycle of patents, including prosecution and litigation, and experienced in handling complicated legal and technical issues relating to patents. We are capable of helping clients design patent strategies geared to their business plans.
