On November 2, 2017, the South Korean Ministry of Justice made our Mr. Han Linghu, the Managing Partner of Lifang & Partners’ Seoul office, the first certified Chinese Foreign Legal Consultant in South Korea.

Under the terms of the Foreign Legal Consultant Act, the certification process requires lawyers to seek approval from the South Korean Minister of Justice and to register with the Korean Bar Association. Approval and registration may only take place after a person has gained over 3 years of experience in providing legal services, 2 of which must be outside of Korea.

Mr. Han Linghu has worked as a lawyer since 2000 and advises a large number of well-known companies in Japan and South Korea. As the head of our Seoul office, Mr. Han leads a team that is focused on delivering legal advice and settling disputes in the areas of intellectual property and international trade.
