Mr. Deng Yao, partner of Lifang’s Guangzhou Office was recently appointed as one of the first mediators of the Mediation and Arbitration Center of Guangdong Federation of Industry and Commerce (GFICMAC).

GFICMAC was established on January 9, 2011 for the mediation and arbitration on civil and commercial disputes between private parities or between private parties and state or collectively owned entities upon application of the parties. The parties of a dispute may further apply for arbitration based on the settlement agreement concluded before the mediator, or bring the case to the court for judicial review and for the court to confirm the settlement agreement. When the settlement agreement takes effect, the parties may also apply for a court order to enforce payment.
