The dispute between Samsung (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and Tian Song as well as a Gome Mall in Wuhan was recently concluded by the plaintiff, Tian Song, withdrawing the case. Lifang partners Xie Guanbin and Sun Xi represented Samsung in the case.

In September 2011, Tian Song filed a complaint before Wuhan Intermediate People’s Court against Samsung and the Gome Mall, alleging that the rinsing technique used in Samsung washing machines infringed upon his patent. Lifang lawyers studied the case carefully and identified substantive defects in the plaintiff’s evidence and conflicts between the plaintiff’s evidence and his claims. When the court held the hearing on August 13, 2012, the plaintiff chose to withdraw his allegation during the proceedings. The court subsequently made out a ruling allowing the case to be thus closed.
